Watchman: Daily Devotional, He Will Allow Pestilence,Plagues That, in the End, Will Be for Our Good, if We Will Heed the Message in Them

Exodus 12:37-38 37 The Israelites journeyed from Rameses to Succoth. There were about six hundred thousand men on foot, besides women and children. 38 Many other people went up with them, as well as large droves of livestock, both flocks and herds.

Archaeologists have discovered Hebrew homes from this historical period in the neighborhood of what was once Rameses, where the Israelites dwelt. Never forget that you are reading true stories as well as God's hand on human history, revealing Himself to anyone who will look.

One plague after another descended on the Egyptian gods, but God spared the Children of Israel. With each plague, God demonstrated the truth to the Egyptian people. If favors (Joseph and the Pharaoh's dreams) do not bring us to Him, He will allow plagues that, in the end, will be for our advantage if we listen to the message in them.

According to the Scriptures above, God was effective in converting a large number of people. "Many more people went up with them" when the Children of Israel left. This is probably where Moses' second wife was converted (Numbers 12:1). As new believers, these Egyptians joined the vast throng leaving Egypt.

They had witnessed the true God demonstrate that He was the only God through the plagues. They accepted His message. They witnessed the life of the Children of Israel and, despite their cultural differences, chose to join those who served the true God.

Many people are being converted nowadays as they discover that the gods they cling to cannot save or even benefit them. We must show them that our God cares and will assist them so that they might join a different nation emerging from the globe, a nation whose citizenship is in heaven.

Lord, make my life a demonstration of your love so that people will want to follow You and be delivered from the world.

The Great Tribulation

It is our belief that the Great Tribulation referred to in the New Testament Book of Revelation (chapters 6-11) is unfolding before our eyes. In the near future, we will devote the "Tribulation" tab on our "Trending" menu to this emerging reality. As people continue to unplug from mainstream media, our commitment is to present the truth and encourage our audience to understand current events from a Biblical perspective. The Watchman

In the Bible, the Watchman is responsible for keeping watch and warning others of potential danger or impending judgment. The role is mentioned several times in the Old Testament, particularly in the book of Ezekiel. In Ezekiel 33:6, God says to the prophet Ezekiel, "But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, so that the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any one of them, that person is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at the watchman's hand." Amen and Amen!! Our behavior as seen by the world needs to be a reflection God’s love in us. This will make what we do and do not do an expression of His love. So that our words that have justified us, and our deeds that should be an expression of that justification, will agree so that our works justify our faith. And by this making our faith complete. James2:21,22

This is what the world must see from us so they will be led to repentance by the kindness of God. Rom.2;4
