Six cases have been confirmed by health officials in Broward County; more recent exposures may have occurred at airports in Washington and Cincinnati.

At the moment, measles and chicken pox are thought to be associated with COVID-19 anxiety. People never seem to realize how much worse things get when they meddle.

State officials have reported that six individuals at a Weston, Florida school have been diagnosed with measles.

This past week, the Florida Department of Health released a notice to medical professionals in Broward County following the diagnosis of the virus in a third-grade student at Manatee Bay Elementary School who had no prior travel history.

Officials reported that three additional cases of measles were later confirmed on February 17, February 19, and February 20.

The county health department stated in the letter that "measles is highly contagious" and that it "is notifying facilities that the patient may have visited, individuals who may have been exposed, and you, health care providers in Broward County."

The other patients' grades and ages were kept a secret by the officials. In a February 18 statement, however, the health agency stated that it is "identifying contacts that are at risk of transmission by working with all partners, including Broward County Public Schools and local hospitals."

Additionally, on February 20, John Sullivan, the legislative affairs and communications officer for Broward County Public Schools, stated in a statement that the total number of incidents is up to six.
