In a new publication, Moderna scientists warn that the technology employed in the company’s COVID-19 vaccination has lethal risks.

“A major challenge now is how to efficiently de-risk potential toxicities associated with mRNA technology,” the authors stated in the paper, which was published on January 23 in Nature Reviews Drug Discovery.

Moderna and Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccines make use of mRNA technology. Lipid nanoparticles (LNP) are responsible for transporting mRNA.

The toxicity risks include “lipid nanoparticle structural components, production methods, route of administration, and proteins produced from complexed mRNAs,” according to the paper’s authors.

The paper’s authors are Moderna employees Eric Jacquinet, Dimitrios Bitounis, and Maximillian Rogers, all of whom worked there at the time.

Moderna’s management and scientists, who used the modified RNA technology to generate the so-called vaccine and then denied any risks related with its usage, should face criminal charges.
