After Amy Grant's Homosexual Wedding Announcement, Here's a Biblical Reality Check

According to James 4:4, "You adulterous people!" Do you not realize that friendship with the world is friendship with God? As a result, everyone who aspires to be a friend of the world becomes an adversary of God."

Amy Grant, a Christian music legend, should take this passage seriously as she continues to utilize her large platform to advocate ungodly viewpoints.

The Kennedy Center recipient recently made news when she announced her intention, along with her country music star husband Vince Gill, to co-host her niece's same-sex wedding on their 450-acre farm.

Grant allegedly rationalized his open support for homosexuality by saying, "Jesus, you simply limited it down to two things: love God and love one other."

Franklin Graham, an American preacher, forcefully scolded Grant for her public blasphemy, correctly emphasizing that loving God entails obeying his Word, which is unequivocal regarding the immorality of same-sex unions.

"God defines sin, not humans; and His Word is clear that homosexuality is wrong," Graham said.

Yes, we are to love both God and one another. However, if we love God, we will strive to follow His Word. "If you love Me, observe My commandments," Jesus said (John 14:15). God, not us, determines what is wrong, and His Word is unequivocal that homosexuality is sin.

"For me, loving people also involves caring about their souls and where they will spend eternity," Graham said on Twitter.

"It entails loving people enough to give them the truth from God's Word. We will never compromise on the authority of God's Word."

According to ChurchLeaders.com, Grant has publicly endorsed homosexuality and the LGBT community in the past.

ChurchLeaders referenced Grant's 2013 interview with the pro-gay news site "PrideSource," in which she referred to Christians who follow God's Word against homosexuality as "the religious community."

ChurchLeaders noted an even more frightening conversation Grant had in 2021 with "Proud Radio" presenter Hunter Kelly.

"When we're loved, we're bold enough to say yes to every good impulse that comes our way," she went on to explain.

Grant implies strongly here that individuals are born queer in terms of how they are "wired," and he dangerously thinks that our actions and behaviors have no bearing on our standing with God.

She also implies that persons suffering from homosexual inclinations should not feel compelled to repent and move away from their sin as long as they think they are "loved."

Indeed, we are loved by a God who sent His only Son to suffer for our sins while we were still His enemies in order for us to be reconciled with the Father.

But God will not tolerate sin and its purposeful practice disguised as "love."

"For if we continue to sin purposefully after obtaining the knowledge of the truth, there is no longer a sacrifice for sins," says Hebrews 10:26.

Pray that Grant would listen to Godly men like Graham, who have not seared their conscience and who continue to courageously declare God's Word to those who seem to have forgotten it.

In an interview with the Washington Post, the singer-songwriter who is also Vince Gill's wife made the following shocking announcement:

According to what Grant shared with the publication, "honestly, from a religion viewpoint, I do often say, 'Jesus, you simply simplified it down to two things: love God and love one other.'" "I mean, okay, that's fairly straightforward," the speaker said.

A little earlier this month, the 62-year-old man shared with Fox News that he is just "on a recovery path."

There are others who must also be categorized as enemies of Jesus Christ, even though such a concept may be quite foreign to their thinking. Such folks may even speak favorably of the Lord, commending His exemplary life and benevolent influence. They have simply decided that they have no personal obligation to submit to His authority.

Or, in many cases, people have ostensibly identified with Him, while merely attaching His name to a religious system of their own design.
