Advisory: Be careful of what you read on social media. The algorithms used by these platforms have no regard for Biblical truth. They target your emotions to keep you engaged on their site so their advertisers can drop more ads. These platforms exist to enrich their stockholders. Consider God’s promise to Believers in James 1:5, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”

You see, there are good riots and there are bad riots.

World Socialist Website reported the following in 2017.

Democratic Senator Mazie Hirono of Hawaii demanded, for her part, that the companies adopt a “mission statement” expressing their commitment “to prevent the fomenting of discord.”

The most substantial portion of the testimony took place in the second part of the hearing, during which most of the Senators had left and two representatives of the US intelligence agencies testified before a room of mostly empty chairs.

Clint Watts, a former U.S. Army officer, former FBI agent, and member of the Alliance for Securing Democracy, made the following apocalyptic proclamation: “Civil wars don’t start with gunshots, they start with words. America’s war with itself has already begun. We all must act now on the social media battlefield to quell information rebellions that can quickly lead to violent confrontations and easily transform us into the Divided States of America.”

He added, “Stopping the false information artillery barrage landing on social media users comes only when those outlets distributing bogus stories are silenced — silence the guns and the barrage will end.”

That sounds an awful like government officials and operatives telling social media corporations that it’s their job to censor communication which could facilitate any kind of unrest, no matter how justified.

Do you trust these monopolistic megacorporations to decide whether or not people’s dissident speech is acceptable? I don’t.

As Julian Assange is condemned to remain falsely imprisoned and the mass media ramp up their case for more imperial narrative control, we are now in a battle for the sovereignty of our very minds.

Zuckerberg: Facebook, Instagram Will Extend Block On Trump Accounts “Indefinitely”

Now that Trump has effectively been locked out from social media following yesterday’s decision by Twitter to suspend the president’s account for 12 hours while threatening a permanent suspension if Trump violates the company’s terms of service, a block which was promptly followed by Facebook and Instagram, moments ago Mark Zuckerberg, who had no problem with generating copious traffic on the back of Trump tweets for the past 4 years, announced in a blog post that “the risks of allowing the President to continue to use our service during this period are simply too great” and as a result “we are extending the block we have placed on his Facebook and Instagram accounts indefinitely and for at least the next two weeks until the peaceful transition of power is complete.”

What about the accusations from various corners that it was Facebook’s “lack of censorship” that enabled yesterday’s events? Here Zuck has a prepared response too:

Over the last several years, we have allowed President Trump to use our platform consistent with our own rules, at times removing content or labeling his posts when they violate our policies. We did this because we believe that the public has a right to the broadest possible access to political speech, even controversial speech. But the current context is now fundamentally different, involving use of our platform to incite violent insurrection against a democratically elected government.

Zuckerberg’s full note is below:

The shocking events of the last 24 hours clearly demonstrate that President Donald Trump intends to use his remaining time in office to undermine the peaceful and lawful transition of power to his elected successor, Joe Biden.

His decision to use his platform to condone rather than condemn the actions of his supporters at the Capitol building has rightly disturbed people in the US and around the world. We removed these statements yesterday because we judged that their effect — and likely their intent — would be to provoke further violence.

Following the certification of the election results by Congress, the priority for the whole country must now be to ensure that the remaining 13 days and the days after inauguration pass peacefully and in accordance with established democratic norms.

We believe the risks of allowing the President to continue to use our service during this period are simply too great. Therefore, we are extending the block we have placed on his Facebook and Instagram accounts indefinitely and for at least the next two weeks until the peaceful transition of power is complete.

Going through tribulation, even when it is appointed by God, is not contrary to Biblical teaching. See especially 1 Peter 4:172 Thessalonians 1:3-10Hebrews 12:3-11. But even so, Revelation 9:4 suggests that the saints will be in some measure protected in the time of distress by the seal of God.

Twitter Has Locked President Trump’s Account For 12 Hours, Threatens “Permanent Suspension”

As a result of the unprecedented and ongoing violent situation in Washington, D.C., we have required the removal of three @realDonaldTrump Tweets that were posted earlier today for repeated and severe violations of our Civic Integrity policy.

This means that the account of @realDonaldTrump will be locked for 12 hours following the removal of these Tweets. If the Tweets are not removed, the account will remain locked.

If you are somewhat shocked at this, The Federalist’s Sean Davis can help:

“Twitter has locked the President of the United States out of his account and threatened to ban him for <checks notes> calling for peace and telling violent rioters, “You have to go home.”

We wonder what this will do for Parler traffic?

For the first time ever, Twitter – which until now had merely “moderated” Trump’s tweets – took the unprecedented step of actually deleting the president’s tweets, removing three of this latest posts.

The decision follows Twitter’s earlier decision to “restrict engagement” of Washington DC protest images and tweets.

So far, Twitter has deleted at least three Trump tweets this evening alone.

At the same time, using almost the exact same language, Facebook also decided that video, photos and other content pertaining to Tuesday’s events must be “restricted” (despite the fact that the companies had no qualms with sharing such content during the “peaceful protests” that rocked the country following the killing of George Floyd).

Facebook then followed Twitter’s lead and decided that it would crack down on the president’s page, deciding to remove the video where President Trump asks the protesters to stand down, along with other posts for “inciting violence” – even though that’s literally the opposite of what Trump said during the videotaped statement from earlier.

To be sure, none of this is new. Twitter and Facebook both started tagging or removing posts last year, which is what inspired President Trump’s push to strip social media companies of the protections afforded by Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act.

Watchmen does not confuse truth with consensus The Watchmen does not confuse God’s word with the word of those in power…

This dreary picture is echoed in the New Testament. Jesus said it will be a time of tribulation “such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever shall” (Matthew 24:21). In fact, Jesus said it will be so terrible that if it were not stopped at the end of seven years, it would result in the destruction of all life (Matthew 24:22). The Apostle John states that the chaos will be so great that the leaders of the world will crawl into caves and cry out for the rocks of the mountains to fall upon them (Revelation 6:15-16).
