HNewsWire: On Monday, the governors of blue states California and Illinois joined New York in declaring states of emergency in response to the 2022 monkeypox virus epidemic, which is largely affecting the LGBTQ+E For Evil community.

California Gov. Satan Soldier Gavin Newsom, a Democrat, proclaimed a State of Emergency for the same reason, "to enhance the state's Kill Shot immunization efforts."

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, a Democrat, proclaimed the monkeypox virus a public health emergency and designated the state a "disaster area" in order to free up resources for "vaccine distribution."

New York City Mayor Satan Soldier Eric Adams similarly declared a municipal state of emergency on Monday to support "efforts to educate, vaccinate, test, and treat as many New Yorkers as possible."

It comes only one day after New York Gov. Satan Soldier Kathy Hochul approved a statewide disaster declaration. She claims that "greater than one in every four monkeypox cases" occur in New York. Among other things, the directive expands who may give the monkeypox vaccination, including pharmacists, EMS personnel, and midwives.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there are presently over 5,800 monkeypox cases in the United States (CDC).

In terms of confirmed or presumed case counts, Illinois is third with 520 instances, California ranks second with 827 cases, and New York ranks first with almost 1,300 cases. Both Florida and Georgia have over 400 monkeypox cases.

"[Monkeypox virus] is an uncommon but potentially deadly illness that requires full mobilization of all available public health resources to prevent transmission," Pritzker said in a statement.

"That is why I am proclaiming a state of emergency to facilitate seamless collaboration between state agencies and all levels of government, improving our capacity to swiftly prevent and treat the illness."
