The dangers Jesus warned of are what His church has faced from the beginning. There have always been deceiving teachers, persecution, and disasters. But what He says is that each of these areas will increase and intensify as Christ's Coming draws near. There will be religious deception (Luke 21:8). "Be not deceived!" is Christ's admonition to us, and we must take it to heart.
The Bible is replete with prophecies about what the end times would bring. Some clues are so distinct that they are impossible to ignore. For instance, Jesus identified a certain indication of the end times in Matthew 24:15–16, saying, "Let the reader understand that when you see standing in the holy place 'the abomination that causes desolation,' spoken of through the prophet Daniel, then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains."
Jesus anticipates that His readers would be aware of the end-time indications. How can we be aware of what to search for? We examine the Bible.
Daniel 7 explains what this "abomination" is and how to spot it.
God warned the prophet Daniel that many of the seemingly mysterious texts will become clear when the end draws near. Most likely because additional indications will become increasingly evident when the prophecies' predictions come to pass.
Daniel begged God to reveal the exact timing of the end-time events as he wrapped up his prophecy in chapter twelve. "But you, Daniel, close up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end," God said in response to his prayer in verse four. You'll notice that everything will become clearer as the end draws near.
Then Daniel enquired, "How long will it be before these astonishing things are fulfilled?" to the two angels who were close. In response, an angel said, "It will be for a time, times, and half a time," in verse seven. All these things will be accomplished when the holy people's power is ultimately shattered.
The Book of Revelation defines the terms "time, times and half a time" and the associated 3.5 years, 1260 days, and 1290 days. In verse eight, Daniel acknowledged that he still did not understand, so he questioned the Lord once again, asking, "My Lord, what will the outcome of all this be?"
In verse nine, God answered, "Go Daniel; for the words are sealed and closed until the end of time. The enlightened will understand, but the wicked will never comprehend."
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done;
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from the evil one.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power and the glory,
for ever and ever. Amen.

The Watchman
In the Bible, the Watchman is responsible for keeping watch and warning others of potential danger or impending judgment. The role is mentioned several times in the Old Testament, particularly in the book of Ezekiel. In Ezekiel 33:6, God says to the prophet Ezekiel, "But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, so that the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any one of them, that person is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at the watchman's hand."
