European Airline CEO Says Unvaccinated Shouldn’t Be Allowed to Enter Hospitals, Supermarkets, or Airplanes.

Unvaccinated persons should not be permitted to access hospitals, stores, or ride on airplanes or other kinds of public transportation, according to European airline CEO of Ryanair, Michael O’Leary.

While O’Leary does not agree with mandatory COVID-19 vaccine programs, he does feel that governments should “make life tough” for those who refuse vaccines without a valid reason, according to an interview with The Daily Telegraph newspaper.

Occupational Safety and Health Administration-mandated immunization programs are already in place in the United States, following President Joe Biden’s September announcement of extensive new guidelines for employees regarding vaccinations and testing.

Employers with 100 or more employees must verify that each of their staff is completely vaccinated or test for COVID-19 at least once a week, according to the rules, which go into effect on Jan. 4. Not to mention the fact that all unvaccinated workers must also wear a mask in the workplace.

Employees working in health-care facilities that participate in Medicare and Medicaid, such as hospitals and long-term care homes, must also be completely vaccinated, affecting about 17 million people.

After Legislators approved the bill last week, all National Health Service staff who have “direct contact with patients” will be required to have gotten at least two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine by April 2022 in the United Kingdom.

“I don’t think that governments should permit those people who are not vaccinated to go and infect everybody else,” O’Leary said. “If you’re not vaccinated, you shouldn’t be allowed in the hospital, you shouldn’t be allowed to fly, you shouldn’t be allowed on the London Underground, and you shouldn’t be allowed in the local supermarket or your pharmacy either.”

“You can sit at home and you know, get your deliveries of medicines and food. But you should not, you know, go to work or go on public transport unless you have a vaccine certificate,” he said.

While the Ryanair CEO believes that obligatory vaccines would be a “infringement on your civil liberties,” he also believes that governments might just “make life so miserable.” Or make it such that you can’t do a lot of things until you get vaccinated.”

In the wake of the new Omicron variety, White House COVID-19 coordinator Jeff Zients warned that unvaccinated people could face a “winter of catastrophic illness and death for yourselves, your families, and the hospitals you may soon overwhelm.”

Zients, speaking at a press conference on Sunday, urged people to be vaccinated or booster shots if they’re eligible, echoing Biden’s recent remarks.

As suspicions about the virus, which causes COVID-19, have grown, schools, companies, and restaurants across the United States have closed their doors and events have been canceled as a precautionary measure.

Few Omicron-related deaths have been officially recorded around the world, and it’s uncertain whether any have occurred in the United States. In the United Kingdom, 12 people have died as a result of the new variant, and the government is debating whether or not to tighten restrictions during the Christmas season.

In other news, O’Leary stated that due to the newest travel restrictions, Ryanair expects to fly one million fewer passengers in December, a 10% decrease.

“If there’s continuing uncertainty over Christmas on further restrictions or some kind of further restrictions, then January will be weak and the forward bookings in Easter and next summer will be weak—so we just don’t know,” he said, adding that the UK and Irish governments are “just trying to lock everybody down for another two weeks up to Christmas.”

“And these restrictions will be removed, but they will effectively have, you know, blocked a lot of people traveling or who are planning to fly over Christmas because they’ve created huge uncertainty and nervousness,” he said.
