Update (1645ET): Dr. Anthony Fauci predicted on Wednesday the country will meet its goal of a coronavirus vaccine by year’s end and was unmoved by the prospect that China would get there first.
While there are no guarantees, “I feel good about the projected timetable,” Fauci told Reuters in an interview.
Pennsylvania rolls back reopening after reporting about 1,000 new infections Wednesday – re-imposes restrictions on bars, restaurants, and gatherings.
Gov. Tom Wolf announced broad new statewide restrictions on bars and restaurants and larger indoor gatherings on Wednesday.
Wolf and public health officials detailed the new restrictions in a news conference Wednesday, which aired live on WFMZ.
Restaurants’ indoor capacity is now limited to 25%, Wolf said. Current outdoor dining rules remain in effect. Indoor gatherings will be limited to 25 people or less, Wolf said in the news conference. The limit on outdoor gatherings remains at no more than 250 people.
Alabama hospitalizations are at a record, with worryingly, 41% of cases between 25 and 49 ys old.
Update (15:45ET): South Africa has breached 300,000 COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, mostly on the African continent, reported Reuters.
Africa’s most industrialized nation recorded a rise of 12,757 cases on Wednesday to reach 311,049 confirmed COVID-19 cases, its health ministry said in a late evening statement, a little over four months since the first case was established in the country.
It has tested 2,278,127 people so far and has seen a total of 160,693 recoveries and 4,453 deaths, the statement said. – Reuters

Most Americans are oblivious to this serpentine monster looming over them, and few recognize it as Socialism. Some feel perfectly comfortable in their present condition and simply ignore what is going on. Some are simply apathetic toward anything that doesn’t directly and immediately impact their lives and therefore dismiss it.
Others feel powerless to do anything about it so they sit on the sidelines wringing their hands in despair. Some just dismiss it all as some so-called “conspiracy theory” held by right-wing whackos. Others are sucked in by the immense propaganda machine and have come to believe it to be a positive step forward.
Probably most Americans are simply lazy for some of the above mentioned reasons and take their freedom for granted and don’t have a clue there are those working to take it from them. There are even some who believe they will profit from it and therefore embrace it. Some others truly believe in the philosophies of Marx and promote it.
Then there is a remnant who recognize it for what it is and are fighting to preserve this country from its influence.
