Suppressing the Truth in Unrighteousness, (Rom. 3:10) The natural mind is hostile toward God. It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so.
While several prominent conservatives have been permanently banned from Twitter, many remain. Twitter hasn’t become a wasteland. Instead, it’s become one of the hottest places on the internet for breaking news. President Trump has helped with this, tweeting his own breaking news every day. Journalists go to his Twitter feed first every day when looking for White House news.
Active suppression of the truth and the turning of the truth into a lie reveals the times in which we live. This is the “mystery of lawlessness” Paul alludes to in 2 Thessalonians chapter 2. Mankind en mass has now exalted himself and his opinions above God’s revelation of truth, thus proclaiming that he (man) is God. The apostasy, or rebellion, spoken of in 2 Thessalonians 2:3 literally means “a standing away from” or “divorcement.” It speaks of divorcing oneself from the truth, which is what apostasy literally means. The man of lawlessness in now revealed. He is not just one man; he is every man that does not practice righteousness by confessing and repenting of his sins. The man of lawlessness cannot confess because he cannot admit that God defines truth and he does not.
While Twitter and the other tech giants are private companies, so free speech protections don’t apply, a large percentage of political speech now takes place on those platforms. There isn’t much of a “town public square” anymore where anyone can go spout their views to a large crowd outside. Instead, if we want to get out a message out free to a large group of people, we’re forced to use private social media platforms. Times have changed, and those who think we can ignore this restructuring of speech do so at their own peril.
Disobedience is a suppression of truth. When God’s righteousness is revealed to us, but we refuse to receive it, we suppress truth. This is the devil’s opportunity to present us with more lies. The natural mind receives them, and more ungodliness and unrighteousness occurs. This pictures the heart of unregenerate man throughout history.
Twitter is increasingly obliging the left when it comes to censorship. The company’s list of “offensive” speech is growing. Now, calling a transgender person by their pre-transition names or referring to them with the “wrong” pronouns can get someone banned. Meghan Murphy, a gender-politics blogger, has filed a lawsuit against Twitter after she was banned for referring to a man identifying as a woman as “him.” What’s troubling about this is Murphy’s view is a commonly held viewpoint on the right. Twitter is now censoring regular folks on the right, not just the outspoken ones.
The right desperately needs a platform that can compete with Twitter. The pressure is mounting every day as the censorship worsens. But until one of the minor competitors gains some major traction, it’s not wise to ignore Twitter. Source

The suppression or putting down of truth takes place when ungodliness and unrighteousness emerge as truth – when truth is used to stimulate the appetite for unrighteousness – for honour, riches, and self-interests. Their talk sounds right, but the way they live hides the truth. In Matthew 7:21 Jesus talks of those who will say, “Did we not prophesy in your name and cast out devils in your name?” And Jesus will say, “I never knew you!” The relationship with truth was missing! The things they were doing came out of a desire for self-enhancement and honour! God’s wrath is against all religious hypocrisy!
It is impossible to find anyone in the Bible who was a power for God who did not have enemies and was not hated.
Like Joseph and Daniel of the Old Testament who served secular kings, we are called to serve everyone and help them fulfill their divine destiny. Jesus made it clear that people who want to lead or be great must be the servants of all. Serving is the way of leadership in the kingdom.
Forcing our way onto the world is not great leadership. Some accuse us of doing this very thing because we speak up on moral issues. It is important that we speak up on issues, but it’s also equally important that we love everyone no matter their persuasions.
Someday Jesus will rule the world; in the meantime, we should just serve well and let our good works speak of our Father who loves everyone.
