Leaders of the “Most Sanctioned Countries” in the World, Putin and Kim, Pledge Closer Ties Against the “Hostile” U.S.

HNewsWire: News outlets in both Russia and North Korea claim that Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un have exchanged messages in which they express their desire to strengthen ties between their countries at a time when both are under severe sanctions from the United States and its allies.

Putin wished Kim "good health and success" in an official diplomatic note, outlining a desire for closer cooperation between the two countries at a time when Moscow is actively seeking to strengthen strategic alliances with non-Western countries, including China and India, as the Ukraine invasion rages on for its sixth month.

Additionally, Putin hoped that closer ties between Moscow and Pyongyang "would perfectly coincide with the interests of the people of the two nations," as translated from his address to Kim.

Kim retorted by emphasizing the unique outcomes that resulted from their friendship.Kim stated that the two countries' "strategic and tactical collaboration, support, and solidarity have placed on a new high stage in the joint front for thwarting the hostile forces' military threat and provocation, and high-handed and arbitrary acts," as reported by KCNA.

When Kim talks about "hostile forces," he most likely has the United States government in Washington, D.C., in mind. Russia surpassed Iran and North Korea to become the "world's most sanctioned country" in March as the Ukraine crisis escalated after Putin's Feb.24 incursion.

Similar to the Chinese government, the administration in Pyongyang has released declarations in support of Russia's right to use force to defend its national security interests.

A European effort is underway, in part because Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has repeatedly asked for it and because it would mean more severe sanctions and Russia's exclusion from even more international organizations if it were to be designated a "state supporter of terror" (such as cooperative anti-crime agencies like Interpol).

According to Rabobank's analysis, Moscow has indicated that such a move by Washington would basically signify the termination of diplomatic relations.

Russia, which is strengthening links with North Korea and Iran (whom the West wants to get closer to again) warns that if it is recognized as a state sponsor of terrorism, it will signal the end of diplomatic relations with the US.

In regards to relations with the DPRK specifically, earlier this month there were rumors of an extremely unique offer: supposedly North Korea is eager to deploy 100,000 "volunteer" troops to help Putin execute the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. It was seen as emblematic of the strengthening relations between the two military and governments, but the Kremlin has apparently rebuffed the offer due to the enormous logistical problem that such a massive foreign force would bring.

To counter the "hostile" United States, Putin and Kim, leaders of the world's "most sanctioned countries," have vowed closer ties.

The Chinese People's Liberation Army possesses two devastating weapons: the DF21-D and DF-26D missiles. Mr Kazianis commented on China's reaction to Ms Pelosi's visit, saying, "I think we're definitely going to see a lot more missile launches."
