Isaiah 53 is a prophecy of the events surrounding the crucifixion and the crucifixion itself. And the prophecy states that some who were there watching the suffering and crucifixion believed He was “stricken and smitten of God”.vs.3,4. Is that what you believe happened? They thought this was happening to Jesus because they considered Him to be a blasphemer. Do you believe He was a blasphemer? This passage says they thought this to themselves because only a blasphemer is, “despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. (Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows): yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.”
But, is what these people were thinking about what actually happened? As we continue reading we see God saying “But, He was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes, we are healed.” Do you see a contrast here between what the people who were watching the events thought, and what was truly happening from God’s perspective?
Note that in vs.5 we see that Jesus was “bruised for our iniquities”. Now try to remember back to what God said about Jesus being bruised in Gen.3. In Gen.3:15 God gave a prophecy regarding what would happen between the serpent and his seed and the woman and her seed. God said, “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” Do you see here that it was the serpent that did the bruising and not God?
So why do so many teach that Jesus’ being beaten and killed was God’s requirement of a penalty being paid for sin for His justice to be satisfied? And that the horrible torture and punishment that Jesus went through was therefore inflicted by God? Because they do not believe the plain teaching in the Bible, that’s why. Because instead, these false teachers have believed the false doctrines of antichrist. The doctrines that Augustine and his disciples brought to the cults of Roman Catholicism and Protestantism. If they believed the plain teaching of the Bible they would see that it was satan and not God who tortured and killed Jesus. And they would see that when they teach that it was God who tortured and killed Jesus to satisfy what they have been deceived to believe to be God’s justice they are in league with satan. They are in league with the antichrist.
Paul told us when speaking of the “wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory”, that “none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” Who does Paul say tortured and crucified Jesus? Who inflicted the pain and suffering of the cross on Him? Was it God? No! It was satan and those who belong to him that did this to Jesus.
So why did God allow this to happen you might ask if not to pay the penalty for sin? Paul tells us why in Col.2:14,15 when he says it was “Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.”
So now when you hear someone saying that Isaiah53 shows how God punished Jesus in our place to pay the penalty for sin, you will know that either knowingly or unknowingly they are in league with satan. And that they are not preaching the Biblical gospel at all. Because Isaiah was plainly showing that the suffering and death of Jesus was exactly what the prophecy that God gave to Eve in Gen.3:15 said it was. It was the “bruising” of Jesus’ heel done by none other than the one who comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Satan and his seed.
So the suffering and the cross were to expose satan for who he is. The one who steals kills, and destroys. To “make a show of them openly” so that we will know and not be tricked by his lies and deception. And that by the “death of the testator” which is a requirement for a covenant to have powered a New Covenant would be given the power to bring Israel out from under the curse of the law(Gal.3:10; Heb.9:15). So that together with the Gentiles(Eph.2:15) they could enter into the New Covenant wherein is eternal life. Israel would no longer “shut up unto the faith” by the law, and the Gentile would no longer be “strangers from the covenants of promise”(Eph.2:12). But, now both Jew and Gentile would be able to be “saved by grace through faith”. Eph.2:8,9.
Will you be saved by this grace? Will you trust in Jesus so that you too can enter into eternal life with Him by a new birth? One that makes you more than just a creation of God, but now a child of God that Jesus came to make possible for everyone that of their own free will choose to believe in Him as Jesus showed us how by His belief in the Father? So that as His child you will inherit His kingdom? Please pray with me if you have believed in Jesus. Dear Jesus, Thank you that you died for me. And that by joining with me in my death you made it possible for me to join with you in your life simply by trusting in you as you showed me how by seeing how you trusted in the Father. Thank you for giving me a new spirit now so that I am a child of God and heir to His kingdom. In Jesus’ name amen.
God bless you in your new life in Christ!

My job is protecting children. It has taken me from big cities to rural outposts, from ghettos to penthouses, and from courtrooms, into demonic battlefields. But whatever the venue, the truth remains constant: Some humans intentionally hurt children. They commit unspeakable acts—for their pleasure, their profit, or both.
