The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Has Confirmed It’s Tracking Potential Truck Convoys in the United States, DOJ Asks Congress for “Indefinite Detention Powers”
After Canadian demonstrations against COVID-19 vaccination mandates erupted in various locations, the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced it is watching prospective truck convoys in the US.
In an email to The Epoch Times, the Department of Homeland Security said it was "monitoring rumors of a prospective convoy that may be intending to travel to numerous U.S. locations."
"We have not received any particular calls for violence in connection with this caravan in the United States," the official stated. "We are working closely with our federal, state, and local partners to regularly analyze the threat environment and keep our people safe."
"The Department of Homeland Security will continue to provide the public with timely and actionable information. DHS has expanded timely and responsive intelligence and information sharing, as well as operational coordination with partners at all levels of government and the commercial sector, during the last year."

DHS is assisting with the preparations for Super Bowl LVI, which will be held on February 13 in Inglewood, California.
"There are online talks that suggest hosting an event near the Super Bowl on game day," the Department of Homeland Security wrote in a letter addressed to federal, state, and local partners that ABC News received.
"While there are no indications of planned violence or civil unrest at this time," the DHS said, "if hundreds of trucks converge in a major metropolitan city, the convoy could potentially severely disrupt transportation, federal government and law enforcement operations, and emergency services through gridlock and potential counterprotests."
Following the breach of the United States Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, the agency collaborated with a number of partners to improve security in the Washington area.
Truckers from throughout Canada descended on a number of locations, including Ottawa, in protest of vaccination mandates. Truck drivers entering Canada were obliged to get vaccinated beginning January 15. Foreigners will be denied access, while Canadians who do not have proof of immunization will be sent to quarantine.

Some Americans have proposed organizing such convoys to Washington and elsewhere in protest against regulations, such as one requiring complete vaccination of truck drivers and those attempting to pass one of America's land borders.
The People's Convoy stated on Wednesday that it will meet on March 4 in Indio, California, and rally that weekend "to reject the unlawful demands."

The trucking convoy would "roll out" of the state after the event, according to organizers, who promised more information shortly.
"Our highway brothers and sisters succeeded in awakening Canadians' eyes to the unlawful obligations and sufferings imposed on their people," organizers said on Facebook to more than 52,000 individuals.
"Now is the time for people of the United States of America to get together and demand that our fundamental rights be restored."
The caravan is expected to go to Washington, according to other social media posts.
According to the White House, convoys in Canada have hindered some shipments to and from the United States. Protesters began blocking the busiest U.S.-Canada border crossing the same day. Due to the demonstrations, some American automakers have halted production.
It’s just like the original Global War on Terror, except that this time the “Terrorists” are all “Domestic Violent Extremists” (“DVEs”), “Homegrown Violent Extremists” (“HVEs”), “Violent Conspiracy-Theorist Extremists” (“VCTEs”), “Violent Reality Denialist Extremists” (VRDEs”), “Insurrectionary Micro-Aggressionist Extremists” (“IMAEs”), “People Who Make Liberals Feel Uncomfortable” Real Christian’s (“PWMLFUs”), and anyone else the Department of Homeland Security wants to label an “extremist” and slap a ridiculous acronym on.
This is a time of tribulation upon the earth. Its severity is without historical precedent. Concerning this time, the angel, Gabriel, told Daniel, that it “will be a time of distress such as never occurred since there was a nation until that time” (Dan 12:1a). This time of tribulation is in keeping with unfulfilled prophecy given to Daniel that pertains to Israel (Dan 9:24-27). It is during this time that God’s wrath will be poured out upon the world—specifically those who are hostile to Him and His people.
