Because Adam COULD die is PROOF HE WAS NEVER IMMORTAL

Adam's body was susceptible to death from the time he was made. You heard that right. His was always as susceptible to death as any man's. And if you will believe what Genesis says about this you can be delivered from the salvation by works beliefs that come from the pagan Gnosticism of the doctrine of original sin and sin nature.

Many believe that God made Adam immortal. That his body was impervious to death. But, they do not come to this belief because the Bible says this. No. They believe it because someone they trusted told them it was true. And they were too lazy or naive to check it out for themselves.

Naïveté is not necessarily a bad thing though. But, if one has been following Jesus for some time, naive or not, they should have learned how to tell the difference between truth and lies.

Paul says in Heb.5:8-14 that "Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.

Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing.

For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.

But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil."

Paul refers to the "first principles" here. These are the principles of salvation that many think they already know. But, when challenged by the word of God they find themselves to have fallen far short of these truths.

But, we will learn the obedience of faith through the suffering that comes from being under death's reign as Jesus did if we will humble ourselves before God as Jesus did the Father.

And no matter how long we may have believed something to be true, when we willingly turn from it if it turns out that it does not agree with what God plainly says in His word. And if we will, then we will no longer be deceived by these false teachings. And we will come to know the Creator who loves us.

In Gen.2:16 we are told that when Adam was in the garden he was given free access to every tree that is in the garden. And that there were 2 very special trees God said were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

In Gen.2:8,9 we see that God placed trees in the garden that in vs.17 God said would affect him for either life or death. And how as long as Adam could eat from the tree of life death could not touch him.

In these verses we can see how God set this up. "And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil."

From these verses we can also see why later in Gen.3:6 Eve thought to herself while considering whether she would eat it or not that the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil was "pleasant to the eye, and good for food". It was because God made it that way. And we know she believed it was good to make one wise because the serpent told her it was. These are very important pieces of the narrative for one to really know God and why He set things up the way He did.

As we continue reading we see how that if he was unable to eat from the tree of life he would begin to die. Which is exactly what was in the instructions God gave to Adam when He told him not to eat the fruit. Here is how this process is explained by God to Adam in Gen.2:15-17. "And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die."

So we have seen here the method which God chose to provide Adam with physical life that was impervious to the effects of death. And how that life would over time be terminated if he chose to eat the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

God also adds this for our instruction so we can know what actually took place when Adam ate the fruit to show that his body was always susceptible to the effects of death. And avoided those effects by eating the fruit from the tree of life. God said, "Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken." Gen.3:22,23.

We see in these verses that had God allowed Adam to continue eating from the tree of life his body would have continued to be immune from death's effects. But, because man had "become as one of us to know good and evil" as God said, God sent him from the garden so he could not eat from the tree of life any longer.

This fulfilled 2 things. 1 was that God's prophecy regarding Adam dying would come to pass. And 2 that God's overall plan for mankind that in 1stPeter 1:19,20 Peter said was planned from before the foundation of the world would also be fulfilled.

The plan of God that Christ would come to redeem mankind from death. In Peter's words- "But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you".

The point is that no matter what you have been told about Adam's flesh when God made him. The truth is that his flesh was always as susceptible to death's power as all mankind. He was mortal flesh and blood just like all men are. His flesh was no different than ours. It was susceptible to the corruption of death both before and after he ate the fruit. The only thing that kept death at bay was his access to and ingesting of the fruit from the tree of life.

Paul says as much in 1Cor.15:45-50 where he writes in vs.42-44,

"So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body."

Now before I go any further in this text lets make what we have just read/heard perfectly clear. The body that God said in Gen.3:19 goes back to the dust today is the same body that Adam had when God first formed his body from the dust of the ground. Paul also says it is a natural body. Not a spiritual one. Here, and as we read on, Paul says this makes the difference for us if we are to inherit the kingdom of God.

In vs.45,46 Paul reinforces for us that Adam's flesh was as susceptible to corruption by death when he was made as all men are by saying of Adam,

"And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. The first man is of the earth, earthy; the second man is the Lord from heaven."

Paul writes here that Adam when he was made was natural, not spiritual. This is why the flesh Adam had when he was made was as susceptible to the corruption of death as all flesh is. His body was made that way on purpose. This is why Peter tells us it was God's plan from before He made the world that Christ should come to save men from the power of death.

Paul makes this claim of Adam here and then shows how all men are born with the same flesh Adam had when he was made. Flesh that was natural, not spiritual and of the earth, earthy. He writes in Vs.48,49 saying,

"As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly."

Paul has stated as clearly and plainly as anyone could that all men have the same flesh Adam did when he was made. And concludes that this is why all men need a savior by saying in vs.50,

"Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption."

The corruption Paul is speaking of is the death that passed to all men because no one has access to the tree of life anymore. And since we have seen that the flesh has always been susceptible to death we can also see that the reason men need a savior has only to do with this fact. And has nothing to do with whether a man has been good or bad.

But, satan wants men to think that is the reason men need a savior. Because by making men focus on good or bad he can fool them into believing that works are the reason men need a savior. This is why satan introduced these diabolical teachings into the church through the Roman Catholic harlot. The teachings known as the doctrine of original sin and sin nature.

Teachings that have fulfill Paul's prophecy in 2Tim.4:3 that men "will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears." This false doctrine invokes the belief that works are what save a man. Because it makes works what caused the need for salvation. As well as providing the answer for how men are saved.

But, God makes it abundantly clear that works, no matter who does them, have no part in how a man is saved. And that only by grace, which is God's love in action shown in Jesus joining with mankind in our death so that through faith in Him we can join with Him in eternal life.

A real eternal life. One that is not corruptible by death as Adam was when God made him with a body that was mortal flesh. A body that was only natural and not spiritual. The same body that all men have when we are born. Because we will have the new spiritual body provided for us because of the resurrection. A new body that as Paul said, "Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality." 1Cor.15:51-53.

And this being God's plan from before He made the world shows us more about who God really is. So that we can know Him the only true God and His Son whom He has sent. This is eternal life. The Creator who desires a loving personal relationship with His greatest creation. Mankind.

A relationship that is impossible apart from free will and dominion. Because for love to be real it must be freely given and freely received by all in the relationship. And by making man "in His image" with the same free will and dominion that He has God has made this possible.

This is why satan works so hard to convince men of a works salvation. Because if it is by works it can not be of grace. And if not by grace then it is not by faith. And if not by faith then we can not know God's love. Because "... he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."

And it all starts with Genesis. The book where we really learn what Adam was when he was made. And that he was as susceptible to death when he was made as all men are. What caused him to begin to die after he was sent from the garden. And how that death spread to all men even though Paul said in Rom.5:12,13 that Adam's sin was not imputed to him or anyone else because there was no law until Moses that brought the imputation of sin.

So believe God when He tells us who He is. Believe Him when He tells us who Jesus is. And know what the real purpose of the atonement is the new body.

This will make it so you will avoid the temptation to believe in salvation by works. But, will trust in the true purpose of the atonement that is to deliver men from death to life by the resurrection from the dead.

A resurrection that is made possible by the atonement when Jesus joined with mankind in our death as Heb.2:14 says He came to do. So that by faith in Him and His resurrection we could join with Him in eternal life. By being clothed with the immortal and incorruptible spiritual body. Our house made without hands according to 2Cor.5:1 that Jesus has prepared for us according to John14:1-4 so we can inherit and live in His Father's kingdom.

Being born again or from above as Jesus taught in John3:1-8 is the essential first step toward immortality. Adam as well as all the rest of mankind must take this step if they will have eternal life. Because by this birth men are made a spiritual being. And once made a spiritual being we are heirs of the new spiritual house made without hands which is the spiritual body that gives us inheritance and access to God's kingdom. Trust in Jesus and His resurrection today. You will never regret it.
