Canada's Trudeau triggers Emergencies Act to break blockades

Even after the Emergencies Act was revoked on Feb. 23, Alberta Premier Jason Kenney and two civil and constitutional rights organizations said they will continue to seek legal objections to the Canadian government’s use of the law.

On February 14, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau activated the act, giving authorities more authority to deal with protests in Ottawa and abroad against the government COVID-19 orders. On Feb. 23, Trudeau withdrew the act, claiming that the emergency measures were no longer required.

Kenney, who announced on Feb. 19 that he would launch a lawsuit challenging the government’s use of the act, said there was never a state of emergency and that he would continue to take legal action.

“There has never been an emergency that necessitated the use of these extrajudicial powers.” What a humiliation for those who 5 minutes ago were defending the indefensible. Following Trudeau’s declaration on Feb. 23, Kenney remarked on Twitter, “Alberta intends to proceed with an application for judicial review of the Emergencies Act invocation to address this misuse of power.”

“Those whose rights have been infringed upon, as well as provinces whose jurisdiction has been infringed upon without cause, must be heard in court.” For the future, the judiciary must be asked to set boundaries on such arbitrary use of extraordinary police powers.”

On Feb. 23, during a press conference in Ottawa, Trudeau defended invoking the act, saying that it was “the responsible and essential thing to do” and that there was evidence that some engaging in the protests meant to “undermine and even destroy Canada’s democracy.”

After MPs voted a motion along party lines on Feb. 21 to approve a 30-day extension of the act, the Senate was considering whether to confirm the government’s decision to invoke it.

Two civil liberties and constitutional rights organizations that have previously filed legal challenges to Ottawa’s use of emergency powers said they would proceed with their preparations.

On February 23, Joanna Baron, executive director of the Canadian Constitution Foundation (CCF), wrote on Twitter that the organization would pursue its case because “it is vitally important that the courts address the legal issues raised by this public order emergency before the next time the Emergencies Act is used.”

Trudeau “still has to answer in court for his illegal and unconstitutional choice to activate the Emergencies Act,” CCF Litigation Director Christine Van Geyn stated in a subsequent Twitter post.

On social media, the Canadian Civil Liberties Association (CCLA) claimed the federal government’s cancellation of the emergency orders was “far overdue,” and that the move to invoke the act “did not meet the legal requirements” from the start.

“We applaud the government’s decision to lift the state of emergency, which has been long overdue. However, we have emphasized from the beginning that the administration failed to reach the legal requirements set forth in the Emergencies Act,” the CCLA declared in a series of tweets on Feb. 23.

“We continue to feel that the use of the Emergencies Act was based on insufficient legal grounds, and that the government’s instructions issued under this law were unconstitutional.”

The CCLA also believes it’s critical for the courts to define the legal threshold and validity of such government actions in the future.

“Even though the orders are no longer in effect,” the group stated, “Canadians are left with the precedent.”

“We will speak with our counsel in the coming days to assess the next steps in our litigation, but we will continue our case for the time being.”

Trudeau has truly outdone himself this time by pointing his finger back at his citizens, claiming that the problem is their yearning for medical autonomy. Perhaps citizens wouldn’t be disrupting the economy if globalist sell outs like TrudeauFauciNewsomInslee, and Pelosi weren’t imposing tyrannical COVID-19 legislation on their people. These people are public servants, and will no doubt provide the public service we demand. 37% of the worlds population is being grossly neglected by public officials who seek to aid big pharma catalyze biotechnological innovation. This agenda inherently defies the will of God, and will no doubt come with divine consequence.

We’ve got a long road ahead of us but through faith in Jesus we’re all saved. 1 Peter 4:12-14 says: “Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you.”Stay inquisitive in the word of God, and the world around you.

According to a new assessment, the condition of democracy in Canada has deteriorated in recent years, knocking it out of the top ten most stable democracies in the world. The report attributes this to the effects of COVID-19 limits on personal freedoms and related public attitude.

The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), based in London, released its annual Democracy Index study on Feb. 10 that ranked 167 nations in 2021 based on factors such as electoral procedures and civil rights.

Despite the fact that fewer than half of the world’s population lives in a democracy, Canada has dropped out of the top ten most stable democracies for the first time since The Economist began publishing the survey in 2006, falling to 12th place.

“Canada’s citizens believe they have little control over their life,” according to the survey, “a sentiment exacerbated by pandemic-related restrictions on individual freedoms.”

The EIU relied on data from the World Values Survey (WVS), which is compiled by a global network of social scientists under the auspices of the World Values Survey Association, a non-profit organization. The findings suggest that Canada’s scores in the categories of “government functioning” and “political culture” are rapidly declining.

Citizens’ displeasure with government leaders who have proceeded to reinstate pandemic-related restrictions after they were first pushed back in the summer of 2020 are reflected in Canada’s decreasing democracy score, according to the research. Others said they were having trouble getting the federal government’s COVID-19 assistance benefits.

According to the WVS survey, just 10.4% of Canadians believed they had “a great deal” of choice and control, and only 23.5 percent had “a great deal” or “quite a lot” of confidence in political parties.

Since Jan. 29, hundreds of Canadians have joined a “Freedom Convoy” movement in Ottawa to protest COVID-19 limitations and vaccine mandates. Parallel protests have erupted at border crossings in Alberta, Manitoba, and Ontario in response to the first protest in Canada’s capital.

For the first time in Canadian history, Trudeau invoked the Emergencies Act on February 14, giving the federal government broad temporary powers to deal with continuous blockades and protests over pandemic restrictions.

According to the EIU assessment, Canada, like the US, has “very low levels of public trust in political parties and government institutions.” This was reflected in Canadians’ support for non-democratic alternative forms of governance: 13.5 percent preferred military control, while 55 percent thought rule by experts or a technocratic government was a “very good” or “pretty good” notion.

The report’s title is “Democracy Index 2021: the China Challenge,” and it examines how much of a threat China’s political model poses to Western democracies and the rest of the world.

In the Democracy Index, China is categorised as a “authoritarian regime.” The country had a score of 2.21 out of ten, down from 2.97 in 2006.

China had a score of 0.88 in the civil liberties category, making it one of the lowest-ranking countries among the 167 countries surveyed.

“There is no free print, broadcast, or social media,” according to the report, “no freedom of expression, and internet prohibitions.” “There are no free trade unions, no independent judiciary, and no true legal equality.” The state does not tolerate religious differences and regularly employs torture.”

According to the research, CCP leaders frequently compare their authoritarian political model to Western democratic democracy, which they claim “produces poorer leaders, time-wasting deliberations, and a lot of gridlock.”

The Chinese system, they believe, is superior to their Western counterparts because it allows for quick and efficient decision-making as well as long-term planning to maximize economic returns, stability, and security. They claimed that this efficiency is contingent on the removal of any democratic accountability mechanism.

According to the report, China’s authoritarian political system has resulted in a high amount of corruption.

The case of Xu Caihou, a former vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission, was a stunning illustration of flagrant corruption among Chinese authorities in recent years. Caihou was detained in 2014 after officials uncovered more than a metric tonne of cash stored in his house’s 20 square meter basement.

“Isolated from the public, China’s elites are generally self-serving, and power abuse is not unusual,” according to the research.

Given the Chinese political system’s intrinsically unappealing characteristics, the EIU believes that how far the country succeeds in undermining Western democracies in the future decades will be largely determined by the West’s ability to rejuvenate its own democratic model.

It goes without saying that Canada’s democratic model is deteriorating; Yet many still fail to understand what it is that motivates these communist politicians to dismantle individual freedoms in the first place. That can likely be attributed to the fact that many are incapsulated in their own respective bubbles, much like a dumbed down metaverse. The truth is, the technocratic dystopia is already among us. Data drives the world, and your average joe has no idea.

The internet has proved to be a place in which you can tune into various frequencies in search of a perspective that best fits your narrative. I could make up an argument on the fly and back it up with facts pertaining to my argument. With that being said, the news about COVID-19 is terrifyingly polarizing. There is a spectrum, by which all narratives of the COVID-19 agenda are carefully presented to anyone conducting research. The opposing sides of the spectrum are those who are sold on the COVID-19 pandemic, and those who aren’t sold at all.

But it becomes extremely important that we listen to our gut, when we notice that someone is eyeballing something that rightfully belongs to you. Our civil liberties are merely gods gift to man interpreted by men of power. No man, woman, government, organization, forum, or anything will prosper as a weapon against God. With that being said, when our God given rights are at stake, it is probably best to question the integrity of those who propose the removal of such rights. In summary, if you’re not a “conspiracy theorist” you probably aren’t asking very many questions about the world around you. Stay inquisitive in the word of God, and the world around you.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
