I have said for a long time. If those who have believed the doctrine of original sin are saved. It's in spite of that belief. Not because of it. I don't know how it is possible to believe that and still be saved. But, I know God's loving grace is bigger than our finite minds can fully comprehend as we look through a glass darkly.
The only thing that keeps a man from heaven is not believing in the Jesus of the Bible who came in the same flesh all men have. The Jesus that is the Creator of all things. Hence, satan does everything he can to cause a man to believe in someone or something else other than this Jesus.
Believe in your own works. Believe in Jesus' works. Believe in a Jesus who did not come in the same flesh all men have. Believe in a Jesus who did and was a sinner by nature. Believe in whatever you want. But, satan's all consuming work is that you don't believe in the Jesus of the Bible that came in the same flesh all men have.
In Mt.7:22,23 we see Jesus telling those who said they "prophesied, cast out devils, and did many wonderful works in your name", "I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." And in John17:3 we see Jesus saying, "this is eternal life that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent."
How can doing these wonderful works in Jesus' name be iniquity? Because trusting that those works were proof of their salvation was a denial of the atonement. They believed that works had a say in their salvation. But, the atonement means that we are saved by grace through faith without works.
Luke1:5,6 says that Zachariah and Elizabeth both walked in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. Phil.3:6 says of Paul that according to the righteousness that comes through the law he was also blameless. Job1 says Job was also righteous before God keeping all the commandments.
But, how is this possible? Doesn't every church teach that the Bible says that no one except Jesus kept the law blamelessly? And doesn't every pastor teach that if men could keep the law they would not need Jesus? And that this is why God gave the law so that realizing they could not keep it blamelessly men would see their need for God?
Yes, virtually all churches and pastors teach these things. But, looking at these passages it is plain to see these are bald faced lies. And they have no basis in the truths that come from the Bible. Because many men kept the law blamelessly.
So what's really going on here? Why are all these people teaching these lies? It is because they have been deceived by the very spirit of antichrist that John said was trying to deceive those he was teaching in his 1st epistle.
In 1John4:1-3 we see John telling them how to discern whether a spirit was from God or not. He said every spirit that confesses Jesus came in the same flesh all men have is from God. And every spirit that does not confess this is not from God. But, is the spirit of antichrist.
I remember Chuck Smith, a man I greatly admired, teaching on Phil.3 and coming across the verse where Paul speaking of himself said, "touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless." He read the verse. And then after a long pause finally said, "I have never been able to understand how Paul could make this statement." And I believe that if other pastors were honest about it they would have to admit the same thing.
Now I love Chuck for having the willingness to admit this. It showed humility. Even though his training was the false doctrine of original sin and sin nature. But, if he had just been willing to turn away from that false doctrine he had been taught to believe, to what Paul plainly taught here, he would have easily understood how Paul could say this.
Hal Lindsey is someone else I remember saying many times that if men could keep the law they would not need Jesus. I was incredulous at such a statement. A statement that showed that his training and subsequent beliefs had kept him blind to the truth that law keeping, works, has nothing to do with how men are saved and why men need Jesus.
From Martin Luther to John Calvin to Billy Graham to RC Sproul to the pope to the Orthodox's and the mormons and jw's, etc etc etc, all alike have based their theology upon this false foundation.
Some because they believed what they were told to believe in seminaries and churches. And others because they have demons in them compelling them to deceive. But, all leading the way into a false belief in God, Jesus, and the atonement.
It is because of doctrines such as this that Paul wrote to the Galatians saying, "Oh foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you? Having begun in the spirit, are you now made perfect by the flesh?" It is because of doctrines such as this that Paul said, "And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness."
It's a scary thought that believing the doctrine of original sin if not THE strong delusion Paul said would come, is a least A strong delusion. It is certainly an antichrist doctrine since it teaches that Jesus could not have come in the same flesh all men have. Denying this because that doctrine says men are sinners by nature by inheritance from Adam. So that Jesus could not have come in the same flesh all men have or He too would have been a sinner by nature.
The fact that so many have been deceived by it when it is nowhere taught in the Bible. And the fact that it has become the standard by which these believe man's need for salvation is determined. And that this doctrine flowed first from the Roman Catholic harlot of Rev.17. Flowing into her daughter religions the evangelicals and protestants and other cults that formed from these. Shows that we are not dealing with just another false doctrine. But, a strong delusion.
A delusion so strong it has taken men into it's bosom who would otherwise never fall for such an obvious heresy. By appealing to the natural mind so that what they see and experience naturally is made to seem spiritual.
Then using examples from infants their natural mind perceives as naughty behavior from a sin nature, and believing it is the proof they need to show the doctrine of original sin and sin nature are true. Turning everything they see into evidence of this false teaching. Even though they have never seen it taught anywhere in the Bible they claim is the word of God.
But, this is why Paul said the natural man can not perceive the things of the spirit. Neither can he know them for they are spiritually understood. Because what Paul was saying here is that what is perceived with our natural mind can not prove of a spiritual truth. Because by definition it is natural, not spiritual.
So all this talk about man not being able to keep the law is the natural man trying to perceive spiritual things. Israelites under the law who were natural men did not think this way. They knew they were keeping them blamelessly.
The rich young ruler for instance answering Jesus said, "All of these I have kept from my youth." And Jesus did not challenge what he said. He simply told him he lacked one thing. Not many things. One thing. And that was to rid himself of anything that would come between him and following Jesus. So even Jesus recognized that men could keep the law blameless.
And this is true for all men. Because even if a man has never done anything wrong he still needs Jesus. Because our need for Jesus comes from our being mortal. Under death's power. And this is why Jesus came. This is the purpose of the atonement.
To bring men to a saving faith in Jesus for eternal life God sent His Son to join with men in mortality and death. So that by the resurrection men could be delivered from the power of death by being made immortal. By going beyond the natural man that Adam was when he was made that was passed down to all men. To become spiritual by being born again.
Because a man who is born of the Spirit of God is a child of God and heir to His kingdom. This is why Paul said "flesh and blood can not inherit the kingdom of God". Not because the flesh is evil as so many have been taught to believe. But, because the flesh is not spirit. And only spirit can inherit the spiritual kingdom of God. Good and bad or naughty and nice have nothing to do with it.
So if you will trust in Jesus and His resurrection you too can have this eternal life. Because when you trust in Jesus and His resurrection you are justified. You are born again. Born of the Spirit. And made a child of God and therefore are an heir to His kingdom. By grace through faith. The faith of Christ. The faith that trusts in Him just as He trusted the Father.
Do this and you will have eternal life. Do this and you will be made heir to God's kingdom. Do this and you will pass from mortality to immortality. Do this.... and I will see you there or in the air!
