Why God DOES NOT Speak to His People Through Prophets “In These Last Days”- Heb.1:1,2

We are seeing many who call themselves prophets speaking as it were for God saying all sorts of things. Sometimes even seeming to get it right. But, we are not only told by Jesus that we must not be deceived by them. We also see in passages like Heb.1:1,2 that God does not speak to His people through prophets.

Heb.1:1,2 says "God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake IN TIME PAST unto the fathers BY THE PROPHETS,

Hath IN THESE LAST DAYS spoken unto us BY HIS SON, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds."

And 1John2:26,27 says, "These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.

But the ANOINTING which ye have received of him abideth in you, AND YE NEED NOT THAT ANY MAN TEACH YOU: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him."

Today's "prophets" that are foretelling things to come are not giving heed to the warnings in the Bible. So it must be apparent to us that these who are claiming the anointing of "prophets" can not be. And so must only be here to confuse and lead people away from the truth, just as Jesus said they would be when He said in Mt.24,

"Take heed that no man deceive you.

For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many." Adding, "Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.

For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Behold, I have told you before."

Please note that Jesus does not say they will claim to be the savior. But, only to be christs. Which translated means anointed. So their claim is that they come as representatives of Jesus. "In my name" as Jesus said. Speaking things supposedly shown to them by God. And so are anointed as prophets to speak to us what God has told them to say.

But, only when we speak what God has already spoken to us through His word, the Bible, are we speaking for God. These are the words God has spoken to us through His Son Jesus Christ.

So here we have it. The proof we need that we should not be listening to these people being called and calling themselves prophets. And at the very least we should be testing these spirits whether they are of God. Why? Because as Jesus said, "Behold I have told you before." So when we hear from God in this dispensation it will be directly from God. And not through foretellers that many believe are anointed prophets and prophetesses.

And if someone offers as a defense for these so called prophets that Peter said in Acts2:17,18 "And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy."

Simply remind them that what Peter quoted from Joel was an explanation to those witnessing the events that happened at Pentecost 2,000 years ago.

To the contrary, if Peter had intended that, his quoting Joel would have contradicted what Heb.1:1,2 says. And what Jesus said in Mt.24. And what John said in 1John2. Knowing this and Peter speaking as he was moved by God, it must be apparent to us who believe that our leading is to come only from Jesus Himself through the Holy Spirit as He leads us in the truth found in God's word. Because as Heb.1:1,2 plainly says it was "in times past" that God spoke through prophets to His people. But, in these last days God has spoken through His Son Jesus.

"Has spoken" is past tense. So all that we need to know has already been spoken by Jesus, and the apostles who taught in His name as they were led of the Holy Spirit. So it is in these that we find God speaking to His people today.

So as we are going through these tumultuous times we must be on our guard as never before. Because as the scripture I quoted above where Jesus said there would be many false Christs and false prophets- And John said our defense against being deceived by these, no matter how accurate the things some of them say may seem- Or how awesome the miracles seem to be that they may do- We are led to know the truth of God's word by the anointing that is the Holy Spirit's indwelling each of us who are saved.

So take heed to Heb.1:1,2. Hear the Lord that has already been spoken for these last days as you are led by the Holy Spirit in the truth of God's word, the Bible. And don't be led astray by trusting in those who claim to be Christs/anointed as prophets.

John also said we are to test the spirits whether they are of God. And he told us exactly how to do this. He said "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh(see also Heb.2:14) is of God:And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.

We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error." 1John4:1-6.

And again in 2John1:7-11 John tells us "For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.

Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.

If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds."

There is another place John makes reference to being made to partake in sins. We see this in Rev.18:4 where he writes "Come out of her my people lest ye be made to partake in her sins and plagues." And interestingly enough these last days "prophets" have the same false foundational beliefs that the woman referred to here in Rev.18:4 does.

In fact, she is the entity that allowed these spirit of antichrist false teachings in that created the apostate church. Teaching that 1John4:1-3 says is of the spirit of antichrist because it says Jesus could not have come in the same flesh all men have.

For they believe and teach that because the flesh is evil Jesus could never have inhabited a body of flesh just like ours. Else He too would have been a sinner by nature.

But, showing these have believed a lie we see Paul write specifically about our flesh in 1Cor.15:45-50 saying,

"And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.

The first man is of the earth, earthy; the second man is the Lord from heaven.

As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.

And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruptibly."

From these verses we can glean several truths. 1- that Adam was not spiritual when he was made as these false prophets teach. 2- that he was only natural flesh and blood when he was made. 3- that all men are born with the same flesh Adam had when God made him. And 4- that the reason men can not inherit the kingdom of God has nothing to do with his bad behavior caused by his flesh being evil from birth. But, only with the fact that flesh and blood, because it is flesh and blood, can not inherit the kingdom of God.

Because in contrast to the spiritual body Paul says believers will be changed to in 1Cor.15:51-54, Paul says the flesh and blood we are born with from Adam is not spiritual, but natural. This is also why Jesus said "Ye must be born again" in John3:1-8.

This is why we must not follow these so called prophets and prophetesses. Not only because they make predictions about the future that do not come true. But, mainly because 1- Heb.1:1,2 shows us God does not speak through prophets now as He did in the Old Testament. Because that Testament has passed. And more importantly 2- because they have believed and teach the spirit of antichrist confessing that Jesus did not come in the same flesh all men have.

So gird up your loins christian. Put on the full armor of God so that you won't be deceived, and listen to what God has spoken to us who are alive in these last days through His Son Jesus Christ. Follow the leading of the Holy Spirit that is in you for the truth that is found in the Bible as Jesus said.

Are you going to believe these self proclaimed "prophets" who claim to be anointed(christs)? Or Jesus and His apostles?

Put your faith in Jesus. Only by doing this will you deny satan the opportunity to take you in the strong delusion that is coming upon those who "take pleasure in unrighteousness"(2Thes.2). Which is pleasure in trusting in the false Jesus of these false teachers and prophets. Never coming to love the truth.

Confess Jesus is Lord. And believe in your heart that He has raised from the dead. Knowing Him for eternal life because you know He alone has conquered mortality by His resurrection. Trusting in what His apostles have spoken to us in God's word. And not in the words of these so called anointed/Christs prophets.
