The Bible uses words such as iniquity, transgression, and trespass to indicate levels of disobedience to God. They are all categorized as “sin.” Micah 2:1 says, “Woe to those who plan iniquity, to those who plot evil on their beds! At morning’s light, they carry it out because it is in their power to do it.”
Leading evangelist Franklin Graham has responded to critics of his “special day of prayer” on Sunday, a time when he’s urged Christians worldwide to ask God to protect President Trump as his political “enemies” seek impeachment. Graham, the 66-year-old son of the late evangelist Billy Graham and the influential conservative Christian leader of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, spoke with The Christian Post on Thursday to further detail what inspired him to announce this Sunday’s special day of prayer. Since making the announcement last Sunday, Graham has faced
Responding to the backlash over his proposed “special day of prayer” in support of Donald Trump against his “enemies,” evangelical leader and evangelist Franklin Graham warned that if the Democrats go through with impeachment, it could spark a civil war in the US.
“What he and his White House need to understand is that this is not going to end, that this is a fight to the finish, that his enemies will not relent until they see him impeached or resigning in disgrace.
Speaking to The Christian Post this Thursday, Graham explained his reasoning behind his call to prayer, which is set for this coming Sunday.
“I am not asking people to endorse him. That is not that point of this prayer,” Graham said. “This is not an election year. So I don’t see how it could be political. He is the president. People have voted for him. He is in office and he is carrying out the duties of the presidency. He needs our prayers.”
“Trump has had many accomplishments since his election. Yet his enemies in the media and their deep state allies have often made a purgatory of his presidency.
Graham admitted that events in D.C., such as Robert Mueller‘s first public statements on his investigation into the Trump campaign’s alleged collusion with Russia, played a role in his idea.
Since making the announcement last Sunday, Graham has faced backlash from fellow Christian leaders who argue that Graham’s call to prayer for the president is nothing more than an attempt to politicize prayer and “engender support for Trump by whipping up prayer.”
“I am not asking people to endorse him. That is not that point of this prayer,” Graham told The Christian Post in a phone interview. “This is not an election year. So I don’t see how it could be political. He is the president. People have voted for him. He is in office and he is carrying out the duties of the presidency. He needs our prayers.”
The special day of prayer statement has been supported by over 300 Christian leaders. Graham is calling on pastors and laypersons across the nation to lead their congregations in prayer for the president during Sunday services, Sunday school, and other gatherings.
A new trend developing on the right that the old political adversaries are deadly enemies and that the US is headed for a profound, perhaps bloody crisis, CIVIL WAR….
Hostility is increasing, in my view, because of the left’s “intolerance”, incivility and willingness to use federal institutions to get its way. Only a recommitment to federalism – ie letting socially conservative states pursue socially conservative policies without federal interference – will divert us from the road to bloodshed. The fault lies with “those who have given up on the power of argument to persuade and have resorted to force”. You may have guessed that I am not referring to the alt-right.
“In other words, one would rather risk death in mortal combat than exercise patience and argumentation within the strictures of our rulebook, the constitution. Such a stance only makes sense if one believes – like the slaveholders and extreme abolitionists did of the Lincolnian Republicans – that the opposition represents an existential threat that politics cannot resolve. “Such a stance only makes sense if one has completely lost faith in the constitution. If people no longer believe that ballots are a sufficient substitute for bullets, then violence is the logical consequence.”

I want to remind everyone of the importance of praying for
@POTUS @realDonaldTrump this Sun., June 2. We need to pray for him as he carries out his duties, that God will give him wisdom in every decision he makes & protect him from his enemies who would like to see him fall. 1/3
It is common for people to seek to demonize those with whom they disagree politically. Calling a person the Antichrist is essentially declaring him/her to be Satan incarnate. Some on the far right were, and still are, convinced that former President Barack Obama was or is the Antichrist. Some who hold to far-left political views were convinced that President George Bush was the Antichrist. Now those who disagree with the political views of President Donald Trump are throwing the Antichrist label at him as well. This political demonization is ridiculous, as the biblical indicators of who is the Antichrist have nothing to do with conservative or progressive politics.
Second, Christians in the United States tend to forget that the end times revolve around the nation of Israel, not the United States. The Bible nowhere explicitly prophesies the existence of the United States. While the United States may have a role in the end times or be somehow associated with the Antichrist, it is also possible that the United States will not even exist in the end times. The “Americanization” of Bible prophecy is unwarranted.
Distractions and misinformation aside, we still have the question—is it possible that Donald Trump is the Antichrist? There are a few things that argue against Donald Trump’s being the Antichrist. Bible prophecy experts still debate the ethnicity of the Antichrist. Some believe that the Antichrist will be of Jewish descent, as he would have to be a Jew in order for Jews to consider him the Messiah. Others believe that the Antichrist will come from a revived Roman Empire (the ten horns of the beast in Revelation 17:3), most likely associated with modern-day Europe. Donald Trump is not European (unless you consider the USA part of Europe in terms of biblical prophecy) and not ethnically or religiously Jewish. Also, Donald Trump claims to have faith in Jesus Christ as his Savior. While anyone can make such claims, it seems unlikely that the Antichrist would even pretend to be a follower of Jesus Christ.
Pray For Our President, Past And Present……
I disagree with some of Mr. Trump’s decisions, but we are to submit to governmental authorities unless it is a direct violation of God’s laws, you decide…
It is impossible to find anyone in the Bible who was a power for God who did not have enemies and was not hated.
The proliferation of ‘pep talk Christianity’ and the lack of expository Bible teaching in the church today have done essentially two things.
Firstly, it has watered down the gospel message. As John MacArthur quipped, “Sin has become less offensive, heaven less appealing, hell less horrific and the gospel less urgent.” Christians have lost their ‘saltiness’ and have become incapable of preventing the world from falling into decay. As the saying goes, when the church loses its voice, the world loses its conscience.
Secondly, it has created an environment that enables false teachers to flourish. Again, this is part of the end times scenario that Jesus warned of in Matt 24:11, “…and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.” Consequently, the result of the mass deception is the great falling away.
