The Children’s Minnesota hospital system honored Democratic Minnesota state Rep. Leigh Finke on Tuesday for her contributions to children’s health after she authored legislation to encourage child sex changes.
Finke, who is transgender, was the primary author of HF146, Minnesota’s “trans refuge” legislation, which would prohibit the enforcement of out-of-state laws that would take a child away from their parents if they received transgender medical interventions such as hormones or puberty blockers. According to a press release from Children’s Minnesota, Finke received the “Children’s Health Hero” award from the Minnesota hospital system for her work on the bill.
“The law protects access to gender-affirming care for Minnesotans and those traveling to Minnesota from other states,” said Children’s Minnesota in a statement.

Finke also proposed removing anti-pedophile language from the state’s existing anti-discrimination law. The law currently excludes sexual attraction to children from the list of legally protected sexual orientations, but Finke’s bill would remove language specifying that exclusion, raising concerns that pedophilia could be interpreted as a protected sexual orientation.
Republican state Rep. Harry Niska later proposed a bill amendment clarifying that pedophilia is not a protected class, which was unanimously approved.
According to its website, Children’s Minnesota is “the only health system in the state that cares exclusively for children” and has two hospitals as well as 25 other facilities for primary care, specialty care, and rehabilitation.
“I am deeply honored to be given the Health Hero Award by Children’s Minnesota.” “At a time when young children are discovering who they are and where they fit in society, we must advocate and fight for their right to discover those identities with dignity and compassion,” Rep. Finke said in a statement.
In response to states like Utah, which passed legislation or took steps to restrict sex change procedures for children, California passed similar “trans refuge” legislation. The legislation requires California courts not to enforce court orders rescinding child custody due to child sex change procedures issued by other states.

Confronting evil and darkness by exposing it through the light of truth, is a job that very few people are willing to do, including those who claim to be followers of Jesus and claim to have experienced the spiritual birth.
The reason for this is because to take on this mission of exposing the darkness, is to be willing to give up everything this world has to offer, even your own family, and to invite those who rule in the kingdom of darkness to come after you, to try to silence and destroy you.
