COVID-19, a disease that no one argues originated in Wuhan, China, has killed over 1.1 million Americans and 6.8 million people globally. It has left millions of others with long-term health issues.
Children who were essentially unaffected by COVID-19 have lost at least a year of education as a result of teachers’ unions and completely incorrect, damaging public health policies. Because of their forced solitude and lack of social contact, many children suffer from depression and other mental health issues.
That’s either a line from a Violent Femmes song or the government telling the American people about COVID-19 and the press repeating it without inquiry. The word “lying” appears at least 45 times in the song, qualifying the Femmes for a position in the legacy media.
So-called journalists relayed whatever that government shills told them while censoring or undermining everything else. It’s not so much what the government got wrong as what the government got right. Nothing, however, was as awful as the lab spill. It was regarded as a conspiracy theory, a ridiculous Republican assertion, or, worst of all, blatant racism.
Both the FBI and the Energy Department now believe it is likely. The FBI’s Christopher Wray told Fox News on Tuesday that COVID-19 “most likely” originated in a facility in Wuhan, China.
“In 2020, if you suspected COVID-19 could have come from a Chinese lab, you were considered a conspiracy theorist, a purveyor of misinformation, ‘absolutely nuts,’ and a bigot.
“The Energy Department’s assessment is the result of new intelligence and is noteworthy since the department has great scientific competence and administers a network of United States national laboratories, some of which conduct advanced biological research,” according to the Wall Street Journal.
Donald Trump referred to it as “the Chinese virus” and was heavily criticized. The term “Chinese” was judged discriminatory. There is no doubt that the virus originated in China. Nonetheless, referring to it as COVID-19 rather than the Chinese virus was more courteous. (After all, it’s critical to show appropriate sensitivity to the totalitarian regime that is attempting to dethrone the US and become the world’s leading power.)
We now know that the censorship and speech suppression were part of a coordinated attempt by senior scientists to deceive the American people. Dr. Anthony Fauci was already aware that the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) had supported research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology through the EcoHealth Alliance when COVID-19 initially emerged as a danger in early 2020.
He was aware that the WIV was a subgrantee of EcoHealth Alliance and that EcoHealth Alliance was not in compliance with grant reporting requirements. The organization was specifically out of compliance for a project that NIAID was aware may potentially make novel bat-borne coronaviruses far more hazardous.
Satan Soldier,Fauci and Collins was well aware of all of this.
On February 1, 2020, “Dr. Fauci, Dr. Collins, and at least eleven additional scientists convened a conference call to discuss COVID-19,” according to Kentucky Rep. James Comer, chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability. Drs. Fauci and Collins were initially cautioned on the conference call that COVID-19 “may have leaked from the WIV and may have been purposely genetically modified.”
To prevent controversy, the scientists opted to remain silent (which would have ultimately fallen back on themselves).
This “coincidence” was immortalized by liberal comic Jon Stewart during an interview with Stephen Colbert on “The Late Show” in June 2021. Stewart caught the presenter off guard when he mentioned the origins of COVID-19. “Oh, my Goodness, there’s a novel respiratory coronavirus sweeping Wuhan, China,” he told the audience. “What should we do?” ‘Well, do you know who we could approach? Wuhan’s innovative respiratory coronavirus laboratory. The sickness and the lab share the same name. “Don’t you think that’s a little strange?”
Stewart used his Apple TV show to reflect on the hatred he received for the segment, with the Energy Department joining in. “My main issue with that was that I thought it was a pretty nice bit that described kind of how I felt, and the two things that came out of it were, I’m racist against Asian people, and how dare I associate myself with the alt-right.”
He wasn’t the only one who was beaten up because of his point of view.
To begin with, despite the fact that the “China virus” was labeled racist by the press, which frequently used it as another stick to beat Republicans, New York Times reporter Apoorva Mandavilli tweeted about how dreadful it was to question where COVID-19 might have originated.
“Someday we will stop talking about the lab leak idea and maybe even accept its racial roots. But, sadly, that day has not yet arrived,” she grumbled. Mandavilli formerly contributed to right-wing publications such as The Atlantic, The New Yorker online, and Slate. (It was sarcasm, people.)
Even mentioning where the virus originated was deemed racist by the traditional press. Weijia Jiang of “CBS This Morning” noted how “President Trump is also facing heat for regularly referring to the coronavirus as the ‘China virus.'” “But many Asian Americans think it’s racist, and the president’s actions have led to an increase in verbal and physical attacks on the community,” she said hastily.
