If you are shocked, confused, or outraged about the downward spiral of our civilization, look no further than the Bible for answers. In most academic circles, we would be ridiculed for making such a statement. And that’s the point! For all the good that may come from colleges and universities, there is a dark underbelly that must be exposed to the light of day.

Before we begin, you may want to read the first two news articles in this series. PT 1 exposes attacks on the Bible that arise from liberal politicians, and reckless judges—who remain largely unaccountable to voters. Tragically, many bad actors in these two groups have infected our society with their anti-God agendas. PT 2 reveals the efforts of monopolistic CEOs who have run amok with their satanic, social re-engineering campaigns; and sadly enough, celebrity pastors of large megachurches who serve Mammon rather than God.

Today we turn our attention to the most vicious attacks against the Word of God. You may not think much about atheists or their pseudo-religious philosophies, but they exert an incredible amount of influence from their academic chairs in some of the most prestigious universities. We’ve all known someone who grew up in a Christian home, went to college, and then returned as an agnostic or atheist.

Former Student Warns of ‘Predatory’ Atheist College Profs

Samantha Sullivan’s parents didn’t feel the need to hector or lecture her before she headed off to college. She was one of those kids who wasn’t in much trouble and held on to her Christian faith throughout her childhood years and throughout high school. But when she arrived on campus, things took an unforeseen and unexpected turn.

It should come as no surprise to you that the Bible itself addresses the issue without menacing any words:

Colossians 2:8 “See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ.”

Notice that these “elemental spiritual forces,” described by the Apostle Paul above, have a very transparent agenda: deception, enslavement, humanism, emptiness, and separation from Christ. In other words, humanistic philosophy is not only at war with God, but it seeks to destroy whoever believes in it.

Richard Dawkins’s Latest Case for Outgrowing God

“I finally gave up on God when I was 15,” Richard Dawkins writes in his latest book, Outgrowing God: A Beginner’s Guide. He hopes to midwife kids of a similar age through a similarly rational rebirth. Believe in God as a child if you must. If your parents believe, you probably will. But follow the facts, Dawkins suggests, and you’ll outgrow theism like pubescent acne.

Dawkins’s own commitment to the facts is far from evident. In September, The Spectator exposed a myriad of mistakes Dawkins makes when comparing Genesis 6–8 to other Ancient Near Eastern flood stories. Indeed, Outgrowing God is littered with indefensible claims, like his statement that “[n]o educated person today thinks either the Adam and Eve myth or the Noah’s Ark myth is literally true” (84). However one interprets the early chapters of Genesis, it’s simply not true that no educated person takes them literally. But throughout the book Dawkins overstates his positions; he doesn’t take opposing views seriously.

The Church Has Always Been Multi ethnic

Jesus’s public ministry was mostly focused on his fellow Jews. But time and again, he commends the faith of those outside the Jewish fold. He praises the faith of a Roman centurion (Matt. 8:5–13) and a Syrophoenician woman (Matt. 15:21–28). When he heals 10 lepers, the only one who turns back to thank him is a Samaritan, whose faith Jesus commends (Luke 17:11–19). And after his resurrection, Jesus declares, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me” and tells his followers, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations” (Matt. 28:18–19).

Jesus was the one through whom all things were made (John 1:3). He created every ethnicity, and he calls people from every tribe and tongue and nation to himself. Centuries of colonialism have left many people thinking that the first black Christians emerged when European missionaries traveled to Africa. But if we read the Bible, we find the first black people coming to Christ on Day One of the church.

Atheism Has a Suicide Problem

Depression is a serious problem with in the greater atheist community and far too often, that depression has led to suicide. This is something many of my fellow atheists often don’t like to admit, but it is true. I know a lot of atheists, myself included, would all like to believe that atheists are happier people than religious believers and in many ways we are. But we also have to accept the reality that in some very important ways we are not.

There are of course many valid reasons why atheists are sometimes more prone to suicide than religious believers. Interestingly enough, one of those reasons is religious believers themselves. We live in a world dominated by people who often fervently believe ancient superstitions and who many times demonize, harass, ostracize, and disown those who lack belief in those ancient superstitions. Atheists on the receiving end of this treatment are understandably stressed and isolated. They often experience anxiety and depression as a result.

One of the most familiar Bible verses puts it this way: The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds, there is none who does good, Psalm 14:1. The question remains, what motivates an atheist to become an atheist? Contrary to the title of Lady Gaga’s popular song, they weren’t “Born that Way.” Most children at a very early age begin to ask questions about who made them and the world in which they live. They may even ask, “Who made God?” But that’s a topic for another discussion. So how is an atheist made?

First, atheists have an unapologetic hatred of Christian ethics. Let’s be clear, the Bible provides crystal clear guidelines on human behavior. The line is drawn distinctly between acts of righteousness and sinful deeds. Neither of these are ambiguous in the pages of Scripture. As we’ve observed with other groups in this series of news articles, they choose to celebrate sin rather than repent of it. Homosexuality and abortion are celebrated by large numbers of people in America. When someone chooses not to believe the Bible, they will do more than reinterpret it or dismiss it, they will attack it with a fury. The same thing goes for Christians who get in an atheist’s crosshairs.

How do we answer attacks by militant and intolerant atheists?

“How do we answer an attack by militant and intolerant atheists on a high school in Georgia and a church in Texas?

The aggressive Freedom From Religion Foundation threatened East Coweta High School in Newnan with a lawsuit because the coach had the audacity to pray with his football players. Their lawyer declared from their “bully platform” that “it is illegal for public athletic coaches to lead their teams in prayer” and how doing such is “unconstitutional because he endorses and promotes his religion when acting in his official capacity as a school district employee.” Such threats cause most lawyers for a school district to cringe and cave in to the pressure of a financially expensive lawsuit.

US street preacher arrested in London says speaking truth is now a ‘hate crime’

After facing arrest and detention for preaching that homosexuality is a sin, an American evangelist is warning that “things are getting very bad” in the United Kingdom and other Western countries, suggesting that the situation has deteriorated to the point where they are “becoming communist.”

Ryan Schiavo, who describes himself as an “evangelist and missionary,” was arrested in London on July 22 for preaching that homosexuality is a sin. While Schiavo is an American, he spends a considerable amount of time in London and frequently ministers to British youth and others gathered in the public square.

In an interview with The Christian Post, Schiavo recounted the events leading up to his arrest and warned about its implications for free speech and freedom of religion in the U.K. and Western civilization as a whole.

Another reason a person might choose atheism is unresolved anger against God. This statement may seem contradictory at first glance. In other words, if you are angry at God, how can you not believe in God? That’s illogical. As the old proverb says, “You can’t have your cake and eat it too.” In reality, however, many atheists are very angry men and women.

There Is Still Hope for Angry Atheists

In the Greatest Commandment, Christ admonishes you and me to love our neighbors as ourselves, something that is easier to do in theory than in practice. Loving your neighbor as yourself can be difficult when that neighbor is an ardent, angry atheist who attacks you and everything you believe in. This is why it is important for Christians to remember an important fact: there is still hope of redemption and salvation—even for angry atheists. Not only is there hope for these misguided souls; you might be the instrument God uses to show atheists the light.

The angry atheist comes in many forms. Perhaps it was an unanswered prayer, like the woman who asked God to let her daughter live, but she died instead. Sometimes it’s a believer or a make-believer who went to church on Sunday, praised God loudly, and then swindled them on Monday morning. Hypocrisy can be bitter pill to swallow. So can dealing with the challenges of pain and suffering.

Most often, the atheist is angry with anyone who wants them to give up control. Ah, there’s the rub. Christianity is all about surrender. It’s the acknowledgement that, “I am a sinner and have fallen short of the glory of God.” It’s the understanding that “the wages of sin is death and no one can save me… forgive me… except Jesus Christ.” The problem with atheism is one of lordship. Who sits on the throne of your life? You or Jesus Christ?

Someone might argue, “only 4% of Americans identify themselves as atheists, how is this such a large threat to American society?” We might reply that a small number of people can exert an enormous amount of influence, but you already understand that. The real problem in society today is not the number of professed atheists, but the overwhelming amount of practical atheists—someone who says they believe in God, but lives like there isn’t one!

So now we’ve come full circle. The only way to undermine the message of Scripture, to disclaim the ethics of Scripture, and to embrace the sin from which the Bible says we must repent, is to live as a practical atheist—profess belief in God with one’s lips, but deny Him with their actions.

HNewsWire would like to remind everyone that one day God plans to separate the sheep from the goats, the believers from the make-believers, and the peacemakers from the peace-fakers. Chilling but true! As Jesus said, “Repent, for the kingdom of God is near,” (Matthew 4:7).

That’s the only way to save America!
