Stephanie Seneff works at the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory as a Senior Research Scientist. She earned a B.S. in Biophysics from MIT in 1968, an M.S. and E.E. in Electrical Engineering from MIT in 1980, and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT in 1985. Her research interests have always been at the intersection of biology and computation, including developing a computational model for the human auditory system, understanding human language in order to develop algorithms and systems for human-computer interactions, and using natural language processing (NLP) techniques to predict gene expression. She has over 170 peer-reviewed publications to her credit on these topics, and she has been asked to deliver keynote presentations at a number of major conferences. At MIT, she has also supervised a number of Master’s and PhD theses. Dr. Seneff was inducted into the International Speech and Communication Association as a Fellow in 2012. (ISCA).
