HNewsWire- “The statistics indicate that vaccination will potentially enhance the likelihood of contracting the Omicron strain of this virus,” Malone recently told The Epoch Times.

Malone was alluding to the fact that in certain regions, such as Scotland and New Zealand, individuals hospitalized with COVID-19 are more likely than not to have received the COVID-19 vaccination.

Meanwhile, a recent research revealed that one dosage of a vaccine increased protection in persons who recovered from COVID-19, but that two or three doses seemed to reduce protection; the authors were unsure why. Another research showed that naturally immune individuals who were not vaccinated had greater protection than those who were.

US drug authorities recognized vaccine-associated enhanced illnesses (VAED) as a “significant potential risk” connected with the COVID-19 vaccinations, as did a similar occurrence known as increased respiratory disease after COVID-19 immunization. According to a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) team, some side events reported after COVID-19 immunization “may imply” VAED (pdf).

VAED is a word that refers to illness that occurs “as a consequence of infection in persons primed with non-protective immune responses against the respective wild-type viruses,” researchers said last year while defining the term. “Because these heightened reactions are prompted by unsuccessful efforts to control the infecting virus, VAED often manifests as symptoms associated with the infectious pathogen’s target organ,” they noted.

“That is what the data have been indicating for many months,” Malone, who co-invented the messenger RNA technology upon which two of the three COVID-19 vaccines approved for use in the United States are based, told The Epoch Times.

According to a Pfizer paper (pdf) issued this month, there were a possible 138 instances with 317 related VAED episodes recorded between December 2020 and February 2021. There were 138 instances, 71 of which were medically noteworthy, 16 of which necessitated hospitalization, 13 of which were life-threatening, and 38 of which resulted in death.

Out of 317 possibly relevant events, the most commonly reported was pharmacological ineffectiveness (135). Additionally, COVID-19 pneumonia, diarrhea, respiratory failure, and seizure occurred.

“VAED may appear as severe or uncommon clinical symptoms of COVID-19,” Pfizer stated, adding that “on the basis of existing data, VAED/VAERD remains a potential risk associated with the vaccination” and that they would continue to watch the disease.

Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson declined to comment.

The CDC and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) are monitoring vaccination safety via surveillance systems such as the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System and v-safe, according to a CDC representative.

The spokeswoman informed The Epoch Times in an email that monitoring to yet “has not demonstrated a causal association between COVID-19 vaccination and vaccine-associated increased illness.”

The CDC notes that although the immunizations are generally safe and effective, it urges individuals who suffer adverse reactions to report them to one of the systems.

Meanwhile, the FDA has not established a relationship between increased respiratory illness and any of the three vaccinations approved by the agency, a representative said.
